Predicted storms may have held off but the Busselton City Sports Power ladies teams still managed to bring the thunder!
The reserves team kicked off the away games Sunday morning against Hay Park in Bunbury. The team, a mix of young, new and returning players won with a convincing 7-2 score on the board. The unstoppable combo of strikers Chenaye Wright and Emily Killick, saw 6 goals between them and the 7th a penalty taken by Molly Hawkins after young gun Finlay Godden was tripped in the penalty box. Midfielder’s Sharon Cowley, Godden, Banita Stewart and Therese Charlton all stepped up with well placed passes to set up their forwards. A strong defence line of returning players Jayne Gardiner and Claire Marchand-Johns, and consistent youngster Nicole Hipol made sure that Hay Park only broke through a few times with goal keeper Toni Damjanovic attacking the ball on her first game this season. The Sports Power Premier Ladies followed suit with a remarkable 11-0 victor!!
