Busselton City FC midfielder Keeley Milner capped off a memorable season when she was awarded the Best and Fairest trophy at her club’s Presentation Night recently. Last month Milner along with teammates Ashleigh Charlton and Ariana Longmore were selected in the South West Soccer Association (SWSA) All-Stars team. Busselton City Premier Ladies team had a very successful season under coaches Therese Charlton and Rob Gibbons, finishing runners-up to an unbeaten Hay Park United side.
Promising defender Justin McClurg joined his father and sister on the club’s honour board when he collected the Men’s Premier League Fairest and Best award. Goalkeeper Jesse Gunnis, captain Rich Amey and dependable defender Dan Dewaal were also rewarded for their consistent efforts during the season.
The diligent Jaxon Rynvis took out Reserves Fairest and Best ahead of the goal scorers Kobe Mayers and Luke Tompsett.
The Masters Fairest and Best award went to newcomer Romain Trouve who impressed in goals throughout the season.
The club also announced that Callum Bull and Eliza Sheehan were deserving winners of the Youth Awards with both players showing considerable potential in their respective SWSA Premier League competitions.
Busselton City is in the midst of appointing its coaching team for next year. At this stage it is hoped that one of last season’s Boys Youth teams will transition into the senior ranks to give the club five teams for 2020. The club will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 4 December (6pm) at their Churchill Park clubrooms – all members and supporters are most welcome.
