A late kick off in undesirable weather away from home set the mood for a flat first half. The sharks did pick up their game half way through the first half following a scrappy all stars goal. The defence and midfield both stepped up a notch and won the ball more convincingly to set up a couple of chances. Half time came and a rallying call from the coach seemed to do the trick. The intensity of the second half was far greater than the first. The whole sharks team had lifted the game and got their teeth stuck into the Allstars. The sharks kept the Allstars pinned in their own half for most of the half. Liana Hughes showed the fire in her belly and ran her socks off to break up play and then turn around the momentum. It was Liana who won the ball around the centre circle turn one player and then another with a run out wide, great cross to fellow midfielder Olly who calmly slotted a great shot from distance to even up the tie.
Shark of the week was awarded to Liana Hughes for her awesome work rate and never give up attitude. Great skills on display today turning well with the ball and winning almost all her tackles, well done and well deserved Liana.
