Dunsborough Hustlers v Busselton Raptors – Knock-Out Cup 2019
Dunsborough Hustlers hosted the Busselton Raptors at Barnard Park in a 14’s Knock-Out Cup semi-final clash. The Raptors had a couple of positional changes from their normal setup. The changes had the desired effect with the Raptors scoring a couple of early goals. The Hustlers were not put off and set about getting back into the game with their keeper and fellow defenders wrestling back control. Both sides had their fair share of forward entries, however the Raptors finishing in front of goal was clinical as they went into the half time break with a handy lead.
The second half was a great display of open free-flowing football with both teams moving the ball around with purpose and getting a number of shots on goal at both ends of the park. The captain and vice-captain lead the charge by applying a positive and attacking style of play from start to finish. Raptor’s entire midfield connection with their defence was impressive. In the end it was the difference in the match. The Raptors coach thought that it was the team’s most consistent and even team performance of the year and praised the kids for their efforts.
The Hustlers fought out the game showing good sportsmanship and were graceful in defeat. The Raptors - they make their way into the cup final hoping to bring home the trophy to complete their already impressive season. Many thanks to the support from all involved on the day. Go Raptors!!!
