The sharks faced the cornerstone Giants in the glorious sunshine on Churchill Park. A great intense start from the Sharks making the Giants work very hard to re gain any possession. Conor was making the giants defence work hard and Bridie turning them inside out again and again. The first goal came from a good midfield battle wining the loose ball and finding Conor, who calmly slotted it home. The defence, Olly and Spencer, held up against a few good giant attacks and Reef made a couple of very good Saves to maintain the advantage. Conor again finished well to keep the momentum. New players to the game James and Xavier helped out Liana in Midfield with tackles and little passes to link up the defence and attack. The giants grabbed a goal back just before half time to ensure an eventful second half. The sharks following the break struggled to get back to first half intensity but still managed to keep the giants at bay. A great long range effort beat Bridie in goal to make the game all Square. A great solid performance in defence from Spencer which won him the Shark of the week award. Great work Spencer - big clearing kicks out of defence, super throw-ins and ran really hard up and down the field to support the forwards.
