The Sharks had a tough outing today against the Dunsborough Thunder. Thunder were well drilled and had a distinct height advantage. The tough little sharks were not deterred and started off with great intensity pressuring the thunder whenever they had the ball. The defence of Spencer and reef and Xavier were excellent when called upon in a very attacking half. The midfield of Olly Liana and Adam all winning every battle and marking the thunder like shadows. Bridie and Ava also pressured the ball and made plenty of chances, forcing some good saves from the Dunsborough goalkeeper. The deadlock was broken following a midfield tackle and a decent strike from Olly gave the sharks the half time advantage. Conor and Adam switched the goal keeper role at half time and the energetic Conor had a good time in attack again forcing good saves from the Dunsborough keeper. A couple of tweaks to positions saw an other high tempo half. A well worked Dunsborough attack wrong footed the sharks keeper and the shot went in off the post. A fair representation of a great game of Soccer. A great effort by all Sharks today. Superb games for Liana Ava and Olly who bossed the midfield. Spencer and reef calm as you like at the back.
The Shark of the week was awarded to Reef for his tireless effort in the defence and when called upon in midfield too. He showed composure to maintain a position and helped his team mates all over the pitch.
