Busselton City FC Youth League Boys tie up runners up in LNJSA League. Busselton travelled to Margaret River on Saturday needing a point to secure runners-up for the youth league. Busselton and Margaret River started the game in an up tempo mood with Busselton having the possession for the first 20 minutes with great control until the rain set in and the game became a game of who could control the slippy surfaces and hold on to the ball. With the game in the balance and the scores locked at 0-0 Margaret River made a few tactical moves at halftime with Busselton having to adjust their team to a faster Margaret River team who looked very sharp in the middle of the pitch . With injuries to Kade Marchant and Valentin Kay the bench looked empty with only the coach warming the bench.
On the 60th minute and the rain softening Busselton stepped into high gear with Josh Snow scoring from the penalty spot, 2 minutes later a free kick outside the box curled into the back of the net. Busselton ran away to a 2 nil lead. With 15 minutes to go the game lit up with Snow scoring a 3rd for his team. Jake Delaney for Margaret River stepped up for his team to get a valuable goal. With 5 minutes on the clock Busselton turned on there free flowing game with Georgie Pride and Oliver Clarke controlling the wings enabling Mark McLean to add another goal for Busselton and Oliver Clarke chipping in for another . With the back line of Busselton holding firm Damon Ryavis, Lachlan Hall, Harry Cross, George Allen and Toby Hunter in goals it let the midfield of Zane Mattoboni and Carson Gardener to close the game out for a 5-1 victory.
Next week Busselton travel to Dunsborough looking to get a 6th win under their belt.
