The Busselton Junior Soccer Club (Inc) was started in Busselton around 1981 by Lyla Douglas. Initially the Club was comprised of sixty or so boys from Busselton and surrounds playing in the Bunbury League. For the first year this meant traveling to Bunbury each week. By the second year, however, the fixtures were home and away which greatly enhanced the appeal of the Busselton Club as travel time was cut by half.
Numbers
steadily grew with teams coming from Vasse, Margaret River, Capel,
Dunsborough and Nannup. It wasn’t long before Busselton started it’s own
competition to be played at Churchill Park. A decade ago Busselton
invited other groups to help organize the competition and an association
was formed with John Cannam being the inaugural LNJSA president.
Since
this time, Busselton as a club has continued to be a dominant presence
in local soccer. With their distinctive red and white strip Busselton
players are hard to miss! Busselton’s home ground is Churchill Park,
although many of our teams train at Barnard Park.
During
the off-season after 2017, Busselton City FC and Busselton Junior
Soccer Club amalgamated to form the largest club in the local area. The
club now welcomes all players from 4 years up to and beyond 65 years
old.
Busselton
City FC Juniors maintains the following values: affordability,
accessibility, respect amongst players and officials, optimal resources
and support for players and officials in developing their skills and
above all a love and enjoyment of the game.
